The first bottles from the SS Republic shipwreck will be offered for sale, as well as gold and silver coins and collectible shadowboxes. Odyssey co-founder Greg Stemm will appear during the marathon to discuss the discovery of the SS Republic shipwreck and the archaeological recovery of coins, artifacts and cargo from the site.

The first SS Republic coin sale during the Shop At Home Coin vault Marathon on May 15, 2004 resulted in one of the highest-grossing 24-hour periods in the 17-year history of the national on-air and online television network, which reaches more than 47 million households.

The SS Republic was a sidewheel steamer lost in deep water in 1865 while enroute from New York to New Orleans after battling a hurricane for two days. Odyssey Marine Exploration discovered the shipwreck and its impressive collection of coins and other cargo approximately 100 miles off the Georgia coast. Odyssey has been conducting an extensive deep ocean archaeological excavation 1,700 feet below sea level using sophisticated robotics.
