Odyssey's preliminary survey and photomosaic work revealed beautiful images of the shipwreck of the SS Republic. Many different types of bottles have been observed on the shipwreck site. The Republic sank in 1865 in approximately 1700 feet of water. Odyssey Marine Exploration discovered the sidewheel steamship in 2003.
