Odyssey's preliminary survey and photomosaic work revealed beautiful images of the shipwreck of the SS Republic. Here, coal and bottles are mixed in with other cargo. The Republic sank in 1865 while en route to New Orleans from New York. The ship was caught in a hurricane and sank in 1700 feet of water.
