Odyssey's preliminary survey and photomosaic work revealed beautiful images of the shipwreck of the SS Republic. Many different types of bottles have been observed on the shipwreck site. The Republic sank in 1865 while en route to New Orleans from New York. The ship was caught in a hurricane and sank in 1700 feet of water.
