Odyssey's preliminary survey and photomosaic work revealed beautiful images of the SS Republic shipwreck. The ship sank in 1865 while en route to New Orleans from New York. The Republic was caught in a hurricane and sank in 1700 feet of water. Odyssey Marine Exploration discovered the shipwreck in 2003.
