SS Republic Project Pictures - Odyssey Marine Exploration

Pictured here is a "frame-grab" from the documentary "Civil War Gold" that aired on PBS in November . Red Vision/JWM Productions, using computer generated images, recreated the "perfect hurricane" that sank the Republic. Today, hurricanes still threaten operations from time to time. Thankfully, the technology and construction of the Odyssey Explorer far exceeds that of the SS Republic built some 150 years ago.
